What :

An "unconference" to identify common issues, areas for collaboration, and next steps in creating an ongoing forum for brewers to share best practices in all areas of sustainability.  If you want to brainstorm about water, carbon, renewable energy, eco-labeling standards, waste reduction, and other greening topics, this is the place to be. Be a leader!

Who :

You, your fellow brewers, and allied trades.

Where :

A convenient location near the convention center - the Wynkoop.

What is an unconference ?

An unconference is a participant-driven conference centered around a theme or purpose. In this case,  the theme is beer sustainability, and the  purpose is to share information and best practices, and develop future forums for continuing the conversation. No stages, no ho-hum panels. You get to decide where we focus, it is your conference.

Bison Brewing  Bison is a craft brewer that sells organic beer in 12 states (and growing).  Brewer Daniel Del Grande just celebrated Bison's 20th year in business. Dan believes that sustainable and ecologically sound food production is the best way to protect our environment, save energy and ensure the sustainability of American farming. Dan recently completed a carbon footprint assessment for Bison in order to understand where his green efforts would be most effective. Bison is on the web at http://www.bisonbrew.com

ClimatePath  ClimatePath (www.climatepath.org) offers a turnkey and 'open source' approach to helping beer brands become climate neutral, that includes in-depth footprint modeling, offsetting via mission-based 'green energy' and 'fairtrade carbon' projects, third party verification, and tools that let consumers view both projects and offset methodology. According to founder Dave Rochlin, ClimatePath focuses solely on working with brands who wish to engage with and inspire their customers to take action on their own energy use, multiplying the impact. The footprinting wiki is online at (beerfootprinting.wikispaces.com)
